Almonte Celtfest is back in Gemmill park July 4-6.
The 29th edition of the festival kicks off with a blast of Celtic energy, in a triple bill lineup featuring Ottawa favourite the Bytown Sea Shanty Collective, Métis fiddler Alex Kusturok and Celtic rock warriors the Mudmen. Tickets for opening night are $35, and are available through Front Door Plus and at the gate (cash only). Entrance to Saturday and Sunday’s programming is by donation at the gate. The weekend promises plenty of music, dancing, and fun in the park from noon till late. Come hear local favourites like the Kyle Felhaver band and Terri-Lynn Mahusky playing in Women of Fiddle, and the Almonte legion pipe band alongside touring acts like the McDades and Maggie's Wake.
Rounding out the event, there will be Celtic College workshops where you can pick up a new instrument and learn some tunes from musicians featured…
