About the event

he Canada Day Festivities return to the Town of Arnprior! There are many activities to participate in across town, courtesy of local businesses, service clubs and the Town.

8-11am – Arnprior Lions Pancake Breakfast - Start your morning off in the Community Hall of the Nick Smith Centre with a pancake breakfast. Prices: Adults: $12.00, Children Under 12: $6.00

10am-4pm – Collaborative Art Project - Take part in the Collaborative Art Project at the Arnprior & District Museum from 10am-4pm.More information to come.

10:30-12:45pm – Bobbly Legault Bike Parade - Everybody is welcome to the annual Optimist Bobby Legault Children's Bike Parade! Decorate your bike, blades, wagon, carriage, skateboard or other and join in on the fun in a parade down to the Robert Simpson Park to kick off the Canada Day celebrations. There will be lots of fun and prizes! Registration starts at the parking lot behind the United Church at 10:30am and the parade will start promptly at 11:45am https://www.facebook.com/events/943471706862893

12:00pm – Speeches, Awards and Cake - Mayor Lisa McGee takes the stage at Robert Simpson Park to give her address and present the Senior of the Year and Volunteer of the Year alongside Town Council. Followed by a cake cutting and distribution before live music and entertainment.

12-4pm – Family Entertainment - Robert Simpson Park is the home of fun on July 1! Families can enjoy free use of inflatable games, backyard games, face-painting and more!

12-4pm – Food and Community Vendors - Stop by and try some of our numerous food, dessert, and drink vendors at Robert Simpson Park and visit the community booths to learn about the interesting activities going on in town.

12:30-4pm Live Music - Local talent will be serenading event goers all afternoon with performances by the SALC Concert Band, Alan Wright and Friends, Main Street School of Music, and The Debenham Brothers. Catch all of these acts on the Gazebo at Robert Simpson Park

1pm – Rotary Duck Race - The Canada Day staple returns with the Rotary Club Mad Duck Race. Purchase your rubber duck before event day and join in on the race. The race is held on the Madawaska River starting at the bridge. For more information and to purchase your duck, visit www.arnpriorrotary.ca or visit their Facebook page.

1-4pm – Strawberry Social - At this Galillee Centre fundraiser, you can eat cake, drink tea/coffee or lemonade, and socialize with friends. For more information and to get in contact, visit https://www.galileecentre.com/strawberry-social/

Dusk (roughly 9:45pm) - Fireworks Display - Finish off the festivities by grabbing a lawn chair and blanket and take in the beautiful fireworks display. The fireworks are launched from the island by the weir. The best views are from Hydro Park East or West.
