Maple Pudding

1 cup maple syrup

1 tbsp. shortening

3 tbsp. white sugar

2 tsp. salt

1 egg

1 cup flour

1/2 cup milk

2 tsp. baking powder

Heat 1 cup maple syrup to boiling. Put it into an 8X8 buttered baking dish.

Combine the remaining ingredients and pour batter into the hot syrup and bake at 350°F until done, approximately 35 minutes.
