- Bill Craig
0c450ecf-66cc-4f21-8cb9-760ed99e5de9 OUR DJs < Back Bill Craig I got to know the Lord Jesus Christ late in life. I found I couldn’t keep this treasure a secret: how beautiful it is to know Jesus Christ personally. I am not a preacher; I refer to myself as a reacher; reaching out to people, giving them good news and hope. As I was saved through listening to radio it only seems natural to give back some of the blessing I have received. I am also thankful to Valley Heritage Radio for providing their air time every week where I get to share Jesus with you, dear listener friend. The good Lord has given me a gift to select songs for the program that dove-tail the stories and scriptures together. In these uncertain times we live in we certainly need encouragement; and not only encouragement, but we need to be challenged. I find the challenge is as much for me as it is for you, dear listener friend. I live on an old farm, near Cobden with my wife Heather. We call our farm HIA Farm, the “HIA” stands for Hope Is Alive in the person of Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour. HIA Farm has a mini-pioneer village complete with mini-horses, Barnabas and Joseph. Don’t hesitate to contact me at sundaypraise@aol.com regarding Sunday Praise on Valley Heritage Radio. Program Previous Next

- Howard Hayes
e69455fb-3f1b-42d8-bb2c-26a049ea137c OUR DJs < Back Howard Hayes Growing up on a farm in the municipality of Low, Quebec, Howard Hayes was surrounded by homegrown entertainment. His dad Jimmy played the fiddle and his brother Bill played guitar, so it wasn’t any wonder that he got into the music business at a very young age. He formed his first band in high school, playing for dances in the Gatineau and Pontiac areas. Howard’s ride on the Country Music train officially began with his first radio show on CJET in Smiths Falls, a program that ran for three years. At that time he recorded his first vocal album and since that, has recorded five more CDs plus three fiddle and one Irish CD with the group Mountain Tay. Like so many other Ottawa Valley entertainers, Howard hit the road through the years performing all across Canada entertaining the Canadian Troops and touring with such artists as Wilf Carter, Ronnie Prophet and The Family Brown. Howard was elected to the Ottawa Valley Country Music Hall of Fame in 1992. Program Valley Country Howard Hayes can be heard every Saturday from 12 noon till 1 p.m. with Valley Country, a program that features only Canadian artists. If you want to hear the best music from artists who proudly call Canada home, then Valley Country is just for you. Previous Next

cc785aaa-c226-4c54-b84c-dd0c28e2a856 OUR DJs < Back Coyote Slim Coyote Slim is an Ontario native who started his music career at a young age by DJ’ing elementary school dances when he was in grade 7 and he continued to DJ events and clubs for several decades. His first experience in radio was hosting a weekly show on CRSC (Canadian Radio Seneca College). The Coyote is a guitarist, amateur singer/ songwriter and a passionate music fan. Despite being a full-time introvert, he has dabbled in theater and performed in several musicals such as “Paint Your Wagon” and “Annie Get Your Gun,” often as the comic lead. As a professional speaker his career has taken him around the globe and, despite an eight-year side trip to Alberta, he has always made his way back to the Ottawa Valley. He resides in the White Lake area and records at the Iron Raven Ranch studio. Coyote Slim hosts the Common Thread Show – a weekly show based on central themes where he endeavors to help listeners “watch” the radio by selecting music that “conjures up images in the mind.” He encourages audience participation and asks listeners to reach him via his e-mail address coyoteslim@valleyheritageradio.ca . In his words “the best part of my show is the listener feedback…getting requests, dedications and suggestions for show themes.” Program The Common Thread Show Coyote Slim hosts the Common Thread Show – a weekly show based on central themes where he endeavors to help listeners “watch” the radio by selecting music that “conjures up images in the mind”.
